Won NL Player of the week first week in the Majors, Lowest team ERA of the starters in 2000, Rated top 20 Rookies in MLB, First pitcher to face Barry Bonds when he was on 69 HR in 2001, In 2001 he was 10-4 and San Diego went 15-4 in his starts, Started career in the independent Frontier League in 1994, pitching for Chillicothe (OH). Won Most Valuable Pitcher Award and made the All-Star team; was inducted into the Frontier League Hall of Fame and had number retired by Chillicothe as well. Was the first Frontier League alumnus to reach the Major Leagues and the league’s version of the Cy Young award is named after him.
